Default Dining Plan Question

Can I use my counter service at other resorts beside the one I am staying
at? I was wondering because I noticed that one resort has a ribeye steak
dinner at their food court.

Thanks

Some of my other favorite counter service restaurants are Wolfgang Pucks
Westside, Marakesh in Epcot, Seasons in Epcot and Tusker house and Flame
Tree at Animal Kingdom.

Are there any restaurants in the parks were you can use your table
service credits without getting a reservation? I'll be going Sept 5
through 13.

That is the free dining period so restaurants will be crowded. You
should call ASAP and make any reservations you need NOW!

There are a few places where reservations MIGHT be able to be made the
morning of and occasionally you might be able to walk up.

A few that you might not need a reservation for:

Captain Jacks
Planet Hollywood
Concourse

Or try lunch for your table service as they are much less crowded than
dinner. You really should call and make something now though. When you
get there you can always see if you can change things around to suit
your needs but at least you have something.

Thanks. I have made reservations for most days. Just wondering if there
were any I could just walk in to. I guess the days of going to the World
and wandering around, taking my time, going where my whims take me are
long gone. I have to decide NOW what park I'm going to each day and
exactly where I want to eat.

So you think it might be possible to get in to some of the restaurants
for lunch without a reservation? Maybe I'll go that route and use my
counter service for "dinner".

Sounds to me and correct me if i'm wrong we should do most of our sit down
at the restaurants at EPCOT? The parks seem to be closing at about 7 that
time of yeat. What would be the best time to make reservations for the
various restaurants then?

We did it last January on discounted dining plan and had a blast. Yes
the restaurants were a bit crowded. We made reservations months in
advance and made a loose schedule of what we'd do each day, but it was
still play it by ear. When we got there we were able to swap a few
reservations around but stuck with most of them. While the restaurants
were busy, the parks were not. Crowds were low the entire week.

EPCOT has two sections to the park. Futureworld which is the front part
closes at 7pm except on EMH nights which in the last week of Aug. would
be the 31st. They'll close 3 hours later at 10pm. World Showcase is
the back part and is open till 9pm except on the 31st when they are open
till midnight for all Disney resort guests. The last dinner seating
time I believe is at the closing time (9pm).

Coral Reef and Le Cellier are going to be fully booked unless you happen
to call just after someone canceled (we got a reservation for Sept. just
a couple days ago after being told before that it was booked). They are
both very good so worth a try.

Try the Tepanyaki restaurant, Marakesh, Biergarten, San Angel, Les Chefs
(France) for starters.

Just a short 5 minute boat ride or monorail from Magic Kingdom try
Ohanas or Kona Cafe at the Polynesian resort. Both are excellent. The
Concourse steakhouse at the Contemporary resort is a couple minute
monorail ride from Magic Kingdom or could walk. From the beach at
Polynesian you can watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

Boma Buffet at Animal Kingdom Lodge is excellent and is a very short bus
ride from Animal Kingdom park.

At Boardwalk is Spoodles which has very good food. It's a short boat
ride from MGM or Epcot. We try to eat there early and then go to MGM to
watch Fantasmic at 8:30 (have to be there before 8).

Default Dining Plan Question

We often eat lunch about 2 or 2:30 and rarely have a problem getting a
table. Choose your restaurant early and go to Guest Servies to make your
reservation. if the restaurant you want has no openings try a 2nd
choice.
