Good suggestions, but that has me backtracking on US 89... which
I personally want to avoid. My plan is to shoot past Zion on I-15,
and cut over to US 89 North of there. That way my route will be
mostly N - S on US 89 in a straight line. I did the North Rim before
and the lodge is full-up... My faded recollection is that the South
Rim has grander views. [R]

The difference is less then 30 miles, but if you are taking I-15 and then
cutting over at Cedar City, then check out Cedar Creaks National Monument.
You can also checkout the Kolob section of Zion (it's worth at least the
drive through).
If you have a high-clearance vehicle you can take Cottonwood Canyon Road
back to 89 from Bryce taking in Kodachrome Basin State Park and Grosvner
Arch.
The main advantage of the South Rim is that you're not looking into the sun
all day. Although the best views are around sunrise and sunset anyways.

Have fun,
Zeyd

Hey, thanks guys... I'd been wondering if that was worthwhile. [R]
