You won't find hotel-type accommodation apart from those in the
townsites (Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise). The Parks Canada policy is to
keep the area as natural and pristine as possible, and rightly so.
However, if you are a tenter
there are many fine campsites but I would advise doing a little
advance research
with respect to location and reservation policy (if any). A popular
option is to rent a motorhome in Calgary. If you have 12 days, you
may want to consider expanding your itinerary beyond the National
Parks into the interior of BC, a paradise in itself. Hard to give
advice without knowing your
