You won't find hotel-type accommodation apart from those in the
townsites (Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise). The Parks Canada policy is to
keep the area as natural and pristine as possible, and rightly so.
However, if you are a tenter
there are many fine campsites but I would advise doing a little
advance research
with respect to location and reservation policy (if any). A popular
option is to rent a motorhome in Calgary. If you have 12 days, you
may want to consider expanding your itinerary beyond the National
Parks into the interior of BC, a paradise in itself. Hard to give
advice without knowing your
interests, fitness level and budget. Cheers. JOHN

Calgary is worth a couple of days on it's own.

If you plan to just look at things from the car 12 will be to much, if you
want to get out and hike and such you will probably crave more time.

The townsites are pretty much all there is for accommodation unless you
search out a remote lodge thingy. Lake Louise is another option, if you
avoid the Chateau Lake Louise, which is a majestic railway hotel priced
majestically. There are some nice lodge type accommodations in the Lake
Louise townsite - search the Internet for them.

I'd love to respond, but I hesitate when I see a post that was thrown
together with no regard for grammar, punctuation, etc.
