Default Flatiron Building

There are hotels almost everywhere in NYC, but there isn't much point in
staying near a specific building just because you want to see it. You are
going to look at it for 5-10 minutes out of your entire visit. You can easily
get there on public transportation from wherever you stay. Hotels that are
reasonably close would be in the Chelsea and Grammercy Park areas; look for
hotels near 23rd Street and you can't be that far from it.

But you can get from anywhere in Manhattan to almost anywhere else in 15-20
minutes via subway.
