Default Charging a higher fare after you purchased your ticket

Can a airline raise the price of your ticket after you have your
reservations, and have already paid for the ticket? I am sure in the
fine print there is a clause that would address this issue. We are
flying in a couple weeks, and notice that our airlines have added fuel
surcharges ticket prices. I told my wife they would have us over a
barrel, since you are not going to cancel your vacation if they raise
the price by a couple hundred of dollars. Also if you purchase your
ticket from American before June 15, but fly later can they charge you
for your luggage.

thanks

Tom

Did they tell you they are requiring you to pay more? If not stop
worrying.

Call the airline and ask, for cryin' out loud! Is it rocket science?
