So. Calif mountains - Big Bear/Arrowhead

You local folks, can you guide me to honest appraisal of the
situation in Big Bear and Arrowhead -- re: recovery from fire damage?

I have family coming out from the East next month. They are
considering side trips up there, and have asked me to get the
nitty-gritty.

I went on-line to ascertain status, but there is nothing up-to-date,
and I obviously don't trust chamber of commerce paeans.

Any leads to Web sites, reliable forums, other sources,
much appreciated..

It's a feature not a bug.

Mostly forest burned, not many developed structured burned.
Got back from there maybe 3 weekends ago.

Phone up the USFS visitor offices on the North shore.

Fire season is high right now and growing.
