I'd advise to buy repellent at stores up in Alaska or the Yukon. Most
insects up there will laugh at the usual lotions and sprays used
elsewhere...

I read the header "Alaskan Insects" and felt compelled to tell you
something I read somewhere: the state bird of Alaska is the mosquito.

But you'll have a wonderful trip because it is magnificent country.
Just keep in mind that EVERYTHING is bigger there than in the lower
48.

Lots of luck!

My experiences in northern British Columbia with those pests was live
with them or hide inside a bug proof cover.
