Default Passport problem

Last time I drove across the border (2 years ago) they didn't even ask for
ID.

Wish it was that easy to get back into the States.

You won't have a problem. Bring lots of standard ID, best with photos.
Border Services (our new joint-purposes agency) will (as before) be
interested mostly in your citizenship, your place of residence, and your
reason for travel. Nine times out of ten, they don't even get that far.
(They're more interested in the conversation than in the paperwork.)

And yes, you will likely be questioned more thoroughly when you re-enter
the US. Sign of the times. US gov't officers pre-screen passengers in
major Canadian airports.
