Default Goin' to NS,NL , possibly PEI

I recently asked some questins of the board about NS and NL and received
several sincere and helpful replies. Now I am back again because it has
been very difficult to get a decent plane ticket using FF miles (American A)
Now my approach is to fly to Bangor Maine and do one of several things:

-take the Cat Ferry, expensive and have to leave at 9AM

-rent a car and drive which in turn presents several options

-take the ferry from St. John to Digby, about 7 hours
-drive overland up through Moncton(is that right) then down to NS
-drive to Amhurst and go over to PEI then down to
NS by ferry

I tend to want to drive all the way and skip the ferry at St. John since it
is only 3 hours to there from Bangor and apparently the rest in ferry time.
I would rather be seeing countryside than spending time on a boat

Any comments suggestions wildly and enthusiastically accepted with
gratitude.

Will we encounter any hostile Indians?

If you want to go to Newfoundland, go, but realize it is a very, very
long drive. From what I understand the best thing to do is drive just
to get there, and not stop off to see anything else. PEI, Halifax,
the Fortress at Louisburg, anything.

It is just too far, and the roads are mostly two lanes, although a
very good two lanes, in NB and NS.

Remember you have a 5 hour ferry ride once you reach N Sydney and then
it is 600 miles from Port aux Basques to StJohn's.

Also from what I understand that 600 miles is very, very rough road.

Then unless you can arrange to take the ferry from Argentia back to
Nova Scotia, you have to drive those same 600 miles back to Port aux
Basques.

To be honest, you have to have a lot of time and a lot of money to do
it. I wish you all the best.
