You have a lot of limitations there. If someone in my family tried to
send me to SC, I'd want to know why.

Believe me. They'll be just as happy and excited if you tell them
what is happening, and hand them the tickets. If you hold back too
many facts, the plan my fall apart half way through. Then everyone's
day will be ruined.

The only other way is to stuff them in burlap sacks, and ship them to
SC by bus.

If you actually want to completely avoid NC your only option is a
western path. Thru Virginia to Tenn. and then south to Atlanta to SC.
If you want to run a small risk then down thru Virginia and a quick run
south thru Ashville and down I 26. Ashville is in North Carolina
though. North Carolina is quite long in an east west direction at the
south side.

The OP is of couse a total nut-job for even thinking of trying this.
But here's my idea: Tell them that you're taking them to the
Kentucky Derby (May 5th), and then get "lost" on the way down.
