Default Greyhound policies?

Greetings!

I have been using the Greyhound bus service a lot lately, and I am
confused about their ticket policies.

I have bought tickets on-line, and then gone in to the ticket office
and picked up the physical paper ticket. So it appears to me that
after I've bought a ticket on-line that's it, I get to ride the bus.
However the guy behind the counter told me that holding a paper ticket
is no guarentee of getting to board the bus. Boarding the bus is
"first come first served."

I asked at the national Greyhound office how their policies worked,
and was told "Greyhound doesn't have a reservation system." I asked
so what does it mean when I buy a ticket on-line, and didn't get an
answer.

Does anybody understand Greyhound's policies about who rides and who
doesn't?

Regards,

Abraham

You guys rock! Thanks.

I think I understand the policy on who gets to travel now. (I still
don't understand the point of buying a ticket online.)

Regards,

Abraham

Greyhound is now a British-owned company, so it will probably all change
in the future anyway.
