Default Travel to Alaska through Canada

There is not problem. It is civilization after all. There are
McDonald's everywhere, and they have very clean facilities.

Buy a MilePost now and page through it thoroughly. The Milepost will be
cheaper, most likely, on Amazon than at a local bookstore or ordering it
direct. It doesn't need to be the current version--one of the last 5 years'
copies should meet your needs.

Plan a loop: if you drive north on the AK Hwy for example, come back via
the Taylor/Top-Of-The-World and the Cassiar Hwys. Or on the return, drive
down to Haines, catch a ferry to Skagway, then continue your drive back
home.

Finally--from Indiana, and if you plan to have time to do any sightseeing,
be sure to plan a minimum of a month away from home. 6-10 weeks would even
be better. Elsa/Mayo/Keno makes a great side trip as does Atlin. With enough
extra time, I'd suggest a serious study of whether a trip up and down the
Dempster Hwy would be desirable.
