Default Driving from Charlottesville, VA to Raleigh, NC

Hi,

I am looking for suggestion on driving from Charlottesville, VA to Raleigh,
NC.

The mapping sites suggest taking I-64 to Richmond and then I-95 south to
US-64.

I am looking for a more scenic route.
From looking at the map I see the US-15 is almost a direct route south.
How are the driving conditions on this route?

Are there any intersting site on this route?

What can I expect weather wise in February?

TIA

Gadi

I'm from C'ville and went to College in Raleigh. I used to switch it
up and go both ways. 29 to 15-501 is a beautiful route and really
takes just about the same amount of time. Just be prepared for small
two lane roads.

Weather should be cool but not freezing in February, just slightly
warmer than you would have in Charlottesville but you probably won't
see snow.

Thamx,

Are there any sights along these routes that are worth stopping for?

You can wander from battlefield to battlefield as you travel. Both
revolutionary war and civil war sites abound. Most are not major but
Appomattox is nearby.

With regard to the weather check near to your departure. It should be
fine but an unlikely ice storm can ruin things.
