Default Ontario, California Hotel Recommendation?

I've got a friend that needs to stop overnight in Ontario, California.

Can you recommend affordable hotels in decent neighborhoods in that city?
Are there any sections of town to avoid ( east, west, northeast, northwest,
etc.)?

Thanks

is he flying in? If so just stay near the airport. Plenty of mid
priced hotels in that area. Try the Red Lion Inn.

I should say that he's driving through and needs to make an overnight stop.
His family will be with him, so they will need something to do while he's at
his meetings.
