Boston Resorts - anniversary ideas

We plan to go for a day to some place for our 7th anniversary near
boston. The ideas I am currently having is some sort of resort
(casino?) or some other nice location (for Novemeber) and do a B&B
thing. Please help if you have any ideas. The main concern is that it
should be near Boston (1-1.5 hr drive) and good for 1day and 1
night.(we are going to leave our 3 year old with a baby sitter).

yes.. we are getting a day/ night out for ourselves. not necessarily
have to go out of town. any nice place to spend the night and some
activities.

or be a > tourist ? White Mtns ? Beach ? Ritz ? give us an idea of
you ideal

Just hang out some time together and have a good time. may be some
activities but not involving much work like hiking, or beach , etc are
out. May be a good hotel/ resort nearby that has some activities Or go
to a nearby place (2 hour drive is fine) and spend a night in a decent
hotel and do some activities in the day. Not interseted in Museums/
history stuff. but scenic is fine.

Since this is an anniversary, I think it would be more romantic to drive
south and spend time in Newport, RI or Falmouth, Cape Code, MA, just to name
two. Both are about an hour and a half from Boston by car.
