Default UL to ?

With all the regs and changes going on, just what does it mean for a 2
seater ultralight (trainer?) You can fly it now without a ticket, but
after some magic date you have to have a sport pilot ticket or something?

Thanks.

First, there is no such thing as a 2 seater ultralight in the USA. There
are 2 seaters that qualify for a exemption for training purposes.

Visit http://www.sportpilot.org/ for the information you need.

those Ultralight trainers have to get registered as ELSAs very soon or they
become lawn ornaments! You can ask more questions about LSA on the Sport
Aircraft group.

.....or just continue to fly them.

Would anybody like to chime in on the last time somebody was busted for
flying an overweight, overfueled, or overperforming ultralight? How often
does anybody get nailed for taking up a buddy in "trainer" without any
instructor credentials.

If you are far enough removed from civilization, you can pretty much
continue to do whatever you want to do.
