Yep!
I only remembered the programme when it was half over, and Kurtz was
about to attempt the ill-fated abseil...

Now I'll have to read then book, but IMHO the best book on the Eiger was
that by Heinrich Hasser (SP?), which covered all the history of the
Eiger up to and including the first successful one in 1938.

The White Spider.
