Default WHW direct from Balmaha

Hi,
is there anybody who can tell me how to go e.g. by bus from Prestwick
airport to Drymen or Balmaha (not via Glasgow, if possible)? I'm
planing a trip up the WHW but I'm a bit short in time. Thats why I'd
like to skip the first miles and start direktely in Drymen (well, or
Balmaha, don't know yet).
Cheers
Paul

I finished the WHW at Balmaha the other week (going north to south). I
ended up hitching a lift from there back to Glasgow and then got the
bus (£3.40 from Buchanon bus station, every 10 minutes) to the
airport. According to what I could make out from the bus stop in the
carpark at Balmaha there's a few buses a day that go as far as
Alexandria rail station from where you must be able to get trains to
one of the central Glasgow stations. Drymen is bigger than Balmaha and
might be better served by direct buses. Or you could get a CityLink
coach to FortWilliam (0700, 1000, 1500 and 1800 from Buchanon bus
station or 1520 direct from the airport) and walk it the other way?
