Default Walking in the U.K.

My wife and I recently had our first experience of "Rambling" by walking
part of the Cotswold Way this last spring. We loved it!!

We're looking for more interesting areas to walk in the UK. We were
wondering how Yorkshire is for walking or perhaps the Lake District.

Has anyone here ever walked the length of Hadrian's Wall? We don't fancy
camping out, so we'd like to do this over the period of a week if we could
arrange for accommodations and luggage transport each day.

Thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

Randell Tarin

Yorkshire has lots of good walking, Pennines and Yorkshire Dales are my
favourites, but North Yorks moors are fine. But as a Tyke I'm biassed ;-)
Mostly walking rather than rambling, and you need to know how to use a map
and compass.

Lake District is fabulous.

Shhhhh You will get drummed out of urw for saying that. Only backpacking
and wild camping may be mentioned here ;-)

A lovely walk which I did many times as a youngster, I will
probably be doing it next week for the first time in 40 years
I suppose it will seem a lot harder now.
