    A Swiss ex of mine flew back from Basel into London City the other day. Getting
    back to Bishops Stortford cost around £68 in combined taxi and rail fares. It
    turned out the local taxi would have done the entire run for £50.

    Must be heavily subsidised then, I doubt that would cover the cost of
    the fuel.

    £50 for a roughly 40 mile journey? Hell, even the worst lorry I've
    driven does better than that.
