Default Reverse Block

Hi all.

This probably covers old ground - forgive me.

I have just completed my Padi Open Water course and am now suffereing from a
reverse block in my right ear. Doctor Jules Eden (Sportdiver mag) has
suggested Sudafed and Steam. I am trying this. My own doc has put me on
Amoxycillin. Does anybody have any other ideas as it is driving me
absolutely crazy.

Also how can I stop this from happening again? My descent to 15m was slow
and I had real problems equalising. Somebody mentioned Papaya enzyme tablets
to open the tubes.

Any advice from anybody would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

One question. Does your doc know how you got the ear problem?
as he has prescribed an antibiotic which suggests an infection.
Which if it is a simple reverse block may or may not help.
Sudafed should help clear the blockage if you have one, but I wonder that if
you are getting antibiotics you may have some damage or an infection that is
causing the problem.

Mike.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

1. My doc has no idea what happened but says that my drums look a little
inflamed. I suppose they would if they were pressured from inside.

2. I did have problems equalising and probably forced it a bit hence a
pile of 'snot' now up my tubes. My mask was constantly leaking so maybe the
salt water has brought on the mucus factory.

Still anybody heard about Papaya enzyme?

Cheers (Still blocked)
