I think this changes everything.
All the 'light' boats you mention are quite capable of Ocean passages,
indeed ISTR that more Beneteaus have done the ARC than any other boat.
However you'd might be much wiser to at least consider going at least
10ft longer and maybe Aluminium or Steel Construction.
Most UKRS posters sail in the Coastal waters of the UK so for advice
on buying and kitting out an appropriate boat for Ocean Passages
you're going to want to consider asking elsewhere for a broad range of
experience of suitable boats.

Perhaps a lunch of a bowl of moules at a quayside restaurant?

Ah.... you mean pipe dreams?
By the time you've done enough sailing to make Ocean Passages you won't need
to ask what sort of boat you need.

Spot on. This may be doing the OP a disservice, as they don't specify
their sailing experience, but is does seem a bit like asking about the
relative merits of a GTB Fiorano vs. a Scaglietti before you've
applied for a provisional driving licence.
Do lots of sailing on other people's boats, but a cheap boat (like a
Corribee) and sail it even more. By the time it comes to do ocean
passages (if that's still what you want to do) you'll know what boat
you want (or better still you;ll do them in the Corribee and write a
book of your adventures).
