Show them how it can benefit them and not simply be an act of charity e.g.
brand awareness, customer entertaining, staff teambuilding, community
'involvement'. etc.
Also, with the 2012 Olympics coming up, emphasise that it is a route towards
the Olympics, and by them people will be saying that if you're not
associated with the Olympics somehow there must be something wrong with you
(not true, but the sort of thing marketeers believe).
