Each to their own, I think... I also enjoyed the Casey Jones
offerings. Not sure why they had to go, see also the dear-departed
Wendy's and Quick, to be replaced by the "bog"-standard duopoly.

"Pumpkin" is also SSP.

Yes, it is the French one (now French-owned, but started in Belgium).
In the late 80s there was one at the top of Regent Street in London. I
think it's a BK now. If memory serves (and I was a student, so it
might not) there were a few others as well. I never saw one outside
London.
I can't believe I'm getting nostalgic about your mention of Wimpy!

I think "The Lemon Tree" is SSP but it's not shown on the BiTE card. I've
been specifically refused the BiTE discount at one Lemon Tree - I think it
was at Havant - but I'm sure it's been allowed elsewhere.

| | Guest | London Bridge - retail desert I don't recall a UK Quick but I'll give way to others on that one.
Further back up the thread someone wrote as if Wendys were defunct in
UK - are they not still trading at Heathrow airport - in T3 of all
places IIRC.
Maybe they've given that up when T5 opened as there was a lot of
movement of retail outlets as well of airlines.

duplicate content.
On Wendys msgs read as if defunct in UK.
Don't they still have one outlet at Heathrow Airport - T3 of all
place ??
Maybe it has gone when T5 opened, retail outlets moved around as well
as airlines.

The Wimpys with table service where the food was cooked to order were
far superior to their fast food outlets. All of the latter were taken
over by BK, but there are still some of the table service ones left
though the only one I know is in Croydon - which was still there a
couple of months ago when I went to Croydon to see the tramlink.

Bender Brunch. anyone?
I was a regular in the one opposite Wimbledon station
in my student days of the late 60s. The great thing
was, Wimpys were cheap and had waitress service, unlike
the revivals of more recent times, although it seems
the old style is making a comeback under South African
ownership, now complete with tasty veggie items such as
Lemon Pepper Quorn with Chips. Funny old world.

Come on Tony, even I recognised that Charlie did that deliberately...
