I've always assumed that they're mentally ill, and to be pitied or
taken to a place of safety. I can't seriously believe that any
religion could think that public preachers spouting incoherently helps
their public profile.

Are you a winner ... or a sinner?

What happened to the Oxford Circus ASBO man? He reappeared at
Piccadilly Circus for a while, but I haven't seen him since.

Forcefully? Off to a gulag for you sonny Jim? And what is mental
illness anyway?

Religions don't have some kind of monolithic central command, nor do
they some kind of sophisticated PR operation to keep such people 'on
message'. In most cases street preachers are just doing it off their
own backs.

Really? That's going to come as a surprise to the Pope.

So can I take it that you are suggesting that an education would have
enabled me to aspire to your intellectual level? How lucky for me that I
passed on the experience.

Brian.
