| | Guest | Eurostar tickets and "any Belgian station" It's not too clear on the Eurostar website, but as I understand it, so
long as you have a Eurostar ticket for that day of travel, you don't have
to buy another ticket for another Belgian train, so long as you're
travelling from Brussels Midi (Zuid). Is this valid only for direct
trains from Brussels Midi (Zuid)? Going back to Brussels also allows this
"from any Belgian station"?
The Belgian trains are not that expensive, but have bought tickets in
Brussels Zuid "just in case".

If you need to change trains on a normal route to get to your
destination you can.
What's not allowed is eg to travel to Ostend and then return to Bruges

The tickets are indeed valid in both directions: from any Belgian station
to Midi/Zuid if you have a ticket for travel on the Eurostar from
that station. I've used it on a number of occasions, travelling to/from
Antwerp as well as to/from local stations in the Brussels area (but not
on the same trip!) | |

Eurostar tickets are indeed valid to / from any station in Belgium,
although considering the cursory glance they seem to get by the on-train
staff, I've often wondered whether they could be used as a one day rover
ticket (especially if you're going out one day and back the next)?
I travelled from London to Luxembourg a few weeks ago and simply bought
a ticket (in advance) from the last station in Belgium to Luxembourg -
dead simple. They are not just valid for direct trains from Midi
either... as long as you're going in the "right direction", you'd be fine.
Cheers

Oh that would have been handy! I did wonder whether they might be valid
to Luxembourg but didn't want to risk it. I went down via Liege and
Gouvy and back via Arlon, although I suspect if the ticket was valid, it
may only have been via the latter (as it's only a short section outside
Belgium that way).
Cheers

I'm not sure that's relevant. In any case the ECs are formed of SBB
stock. | |
