WSMR refer you to 'National Rail' fares (Raileasy+commision?) for anything
other than a WSMR operator specific ticket to/from London, which makes sense
if you assume they are not trying to compete with Chiltern, so only normal
interavailable/any operator tickets will be available to/from Banbury,
although there seems no real reason why WSMR don't sell them directly
AFAICS.

The NR OJP does show normal 'any operator' Saver returns at £42.60 from
Wrexham - Banbury though - did you definitely ask for a return journey on
trainline?
As usual the OJP will by default probably not show any WSMR services as
combinations of other operators will always be quicker.

Hi Paul

No I asked for a single as I only need one-way......is there any
reason Saver singles wouldn't be offered?

Gary.

I thought Saver singles (or should that be Saver half returns) only came up
as part of a return journey for use when an 'Advance' was not available both
ways? However they are now only sold by Virgin WC, as Arriva XC stopped
back in May this year?

WSMR do sell tickets on the train. From Wrexham, you shouldn't have any
problem with seating on the day- and you know all of the cash goes directly
to WSMR.. See the conductor, you will find they are very helpful..

Except "terminating short" is not permitted on an Advance ticket under
the new rules that came in back in May, though why WSMR haven't put
Advance fares in for intermediate journeys remains to be seen.

Interestingly (or not), the National Express East Coast site will quite
happily offer the WSMR specific tickets, but the Chiltern branded
trainline.com won't, and the main RailEasy site won't show the WSMR
services as direct trains.

Cheers,

Barry
