I've given that some thought. I believe membership of COTIF (which the
UK enjoys), and to which CIV is an appendix, gives an obligation to
publish a TCV tariff. The tickets referred to in this and other
threads as CIV tickets are strictly speaking TCV tickets. They have
advantages in that they are not affected by the same restrictions that
can be applied to domestic operators' tickets.
I'm happy to be corrected if this assumption is incorrect, but I don't
believe it is.
I'll dig out my copy of the CIV when I have a minute, but I'm certain
it applies to international journeys, not tickets. The ticket
combination is irrelevant, as long as the journey is international,
and between two or more member countries of COTIF. |
