Not the only railway enthusiast in senior railway management- I believe at
least one even has his own narrow-gauge railway.
Heaton will probably cope well enough- it wasn't that long ago that they
used to do some work on ECML 254s.

I noticed on a First Capital Connect engineering poster that there are
major works at Stevenage over Christmas, GNER are bussing passengers
from Hatfield to Peterborough, but what was interesting is that Grand
Central services will only operate north of Biggleswade. Now surely
they are not going to terminating there are they? That would be
slightly logical! Presumably they will be putting the punters on
busses to Hatfield or Welwyn from there? Anyone know more?

Hatfield and Biggleswade stations are close to the A1, so make suitable
places to terminate buses.

Perhaps Grand Central will run buses from Biggleswade to Hatfield
(putting passengers onto other people's services from there), making use
of what might be limited terminating facilities at Biggleswade.

Hull Trains seems to be terminating at Retford on Christmas Eve - three
and a quarter hours on a coach to KX. Merry Christmas!
