The high-impact stunt, filmed last August should get tongues

This televisual celebration of lawbreaking [1] isn't high on my priority
list, and calling a 31 a "high speed train" is probably actionable under the
Trades Descriptions Act. Good variation on the elephant and tortoise joke
though.
[1] Speeding is OK, parking wherever you like is OK, and using your mobile
while driving is also OK on Planet Jezza.

Wash your mouth out! I once clocked a pair of 31/4s at 102mph on the WCML.
Once. When they worked some Barrow - Manchesters on five MkIIs, they could
reach their 90mph official top speed on the Lancaster - Preston section.
Though it did take around half of the 21 miles between the two stations to
reach that speed. But the thrash ...

Is that the same as the 40 that can pull 100?

90 perhaps. This could be reached with six Mk 1s on the back between
Micklefield and Church Fenton (it's downhill).

Do you remember about 20 years ago, they staged a stunt in
Leicestershire where they ran a train into a flask designed to
transport used uranium?

Unfortunately, if they have to wait until a week without any LC incidents on
the railway, it could be quite a long wait...
