Standing behind the cab on a driver-only train as it starts from a
station is quite an experience, as the driver points to the signal,
the clock, his timetable, the mirror, the door close buttons, the
mirror again, the timetable, the clock, the signal... With his white
gloves on of course, and muttering to himself all the time.
It looks like someone with a severe case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I believe before crossing tracks on foot, staff have to point in both
directions and say "The line is clear"[1].
