Default Do freight timetables exist?

May I ask if freight timetables actually exist? I see in many a book
and magazine a picture of a freight train (present day) and the
caption manages to indicate its exact timing (a fictional example: the
09.37 Eastleigh to Felixstowe). May I ask how this information is
actually acquired?

As a matter of clarification:

a) if you were to publish freight times on a website
which you had obtained/worked out yourself, I couldn't
(and wouldn't want to) prevent you.

b) However, if you were to reproduce timings from Freightmaster,
you would be receiving a "cease and desist" letter fairly sharpish,
as the infomation in freightmaster is *my own interpretation* of the
freight working timetable, heavily 'tweaked' to best represent which
freight trains actually run and when.

Just like Ordnance Survey maps, the tables are peppered with
'sleepers' (trains deliberately altered ever so slightly from
the Working Timetable), so it is impossible for anyone to claim
that they just 'happened' to produce a timetable the same as mine!

Because of the above, I have (touch wood) never had to take
anyone to court in ten years of Freightmaster, although I
have been very close on a couple of occasions, both involving
professional consultancy firms reproducing the maps from the
book without permission...

That's interesting, why the secrecy?

Cat.

I don't think that secrecy is quite the right word. Privacy is more
appropriate.
