Not quite sure why the character uses 'CAPITAL LETTERS' - is that not
considered shouting in usenet terms and discouraged? Perhaps Joyce
should also add that into the FAQ. Ho hum...

I am not to be taken home and kept.

Z for Robert has explained this in the past - something to do with the
way his Computing Service keeps account details and the problem of
changing it frequently - but I can't find it on Google Groups.

I'm sure you and Nodding Donkey would get on well together in a good
home.

Please don't! Life has been passing along quite pleasantly...

The database that holds his details, stores the users name in capitals
for reasons way lost in time!

That system feeds the password file on the UNIX machine he uses to post
to usenet from, and his usenet client looks in the password file to see
what name it should use for postings as Andy has chosen not to set the
NAME environment variable.

Cheers

Andrew

(Who just happens to look after said machines)

so why have you put his name in capital letters in the subject
heading?

More to the point, is it really bothering you that much that he puts
his name in capital letters?
