Try searching the Google archive for the answer - we went over this one
before Christmas, so all the discussions should still be available.

It will become a major Sock Shop outlet in line with current policy for
station development.

Aaaaaaaaanyway ... Underground interchange at St P is bad, but may
improve (ha). Underground Interchange at Waterloo is miles from every
line. (The JLE in particular seems to have taken on the challenge of
seeing by how many miles it could avoid any of the places its stations
were named after.)

Maybe Waterloo International will be used for pop videos and other
filming?

Ultimately it depends on when Eurostar train sets are replaced - likely not
to be replaced with third rail power. Possibly turned into a
Waterloo-Heathrow Express station, but probably not until after the 2012
Olympics when Waterloo could be used to enable a St Pancras-Stratford
shuttle?

CEO of Eurostar reported to be in discussions at the moment as to whether to
continue serving Waterloo.

Only the St Pancras trains will be able to serve Stratford International and
Ebbsfleet

E* sometime ago stated that they could not afford to run two central London
stations and that they would bale out of Waterloo. However, whilst that may
be the case, can they afford to ignore the fact approximately one fifth of
the population live in direct communication with Waterloo by train and among
that population will be a large proportion of people most likely to use E*
apart from the fact, as has been mentioned, that both Whitehall and
Parliament are but a short step away. For the same reason that NoL services
have not materialised it is hardly likely that those from Birmingham
northward wishing to visit Paris and Brussels will come steaming down to St.
Pancras to take E* - they will continue to fly. It is highly problematic
whether transfer of services to St.Pancras will be successful.
Then there is another problem, if E* are unable to afford two London
termianls how are they going to afford Stratford and Ebbsfleet or will the
cost of running these stations fall on the IKF?

Ten minutes is too far? It's quicker to walk than use the tube.
