ISTR that Mk 1 had two sliding windows for ventilation which met in the
middle, while Mk2/a/b/c had a single sliding window. These Mk 2s had the
winged seats in second/standard class, which can't be mistaken for Mk 1
seats. A maroon Mk 2 BSO was almost certainly delivered in blue and grey,
and has been repainted to maroon in more recent years.

The original Mark 2 FKs which went to the ER were delivered in maroon. Some
also went to the LMR in maroon but were soon repainted in blue and grey. The
Mark 2 FKs, alone among Mark 2s, had two sliding ventilators per window,
like Mark 1s. All others had one sliding ventilator per window. No TSOs were
delivered in maroon.
