It was 0800 in 1973-74. I think by then BR had actually realised that no-one
would be likely to use the TC to travel from St Pancras to anywhere beyond
Sheffield, though there was something of a market from Kettering, Leicester,
Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds to Scotland (a lot of Scots had come South
to work in the steelworks at Corby - hence the Kettering stop), and the
earlier start from London meant a more convenient departure from these
stations and arrival in Glasgow.

Perhaps there was something about 70's Midland ambience? I'll have to
see if I can find a few more of the St. Pancras Daily Orders for then,
but I'm sure it wasn't only parties including youngsters?
