Airliner World Glasgow Feature August 2009 Issue
Hey guys, recieved my copy of Airliner World today (i subscribe to it)
and the Glasgow Article isn't exact on facts.
Here are some points I have noted:
1. Continentals operates a year round service to both Los Angeles and
Newark (I know the flight number extends to Los Angeles but it is
still listed on flight arrivals as only Newark.
2. US Airways operates a sesonal link to Philadelphia, San Franscisco
and Tampa using 767 and A330 (only a 757 to Philadeplia, the number
extends to Boston I think)
3. American rumoured to be resuming flights to Chicago (this is
possible but am sure it was Boston that was mentioned)
4. Since 2007, Emirates have operated a double daily flight to Dubai
using A330 or 777 aircraft (we all wish this was true)
5.Pakistain launched twice weekly flights Lahore and Faisalabad in
April 2008, these were quickly followed up by twice weekly services to
Islamabad and Karachi.
The Picture on page 94 of the magazine is also outdated, an Airtours
767 at stand 30 and a 757 at stand 27, no stands 37/38/39 or stands
80/81

Picked up my copy yesterday, nothing in there we don't already know
and yes some very dated pictures. That airport overview, nice as it
is, must be from about 1999 or 2000 I'm guessing. Lot's of BA Landor
liveries on show and what's the red tailed, DC-9 or Fokker type on the
international stands ?
