Keith Simpson V the Caravan Club Ltd Hi all I took the Caravan club to the small claims court regarding my
Holiday in France this year at La Puerto Del Sol. Just to let you all know I
successfully won the case and was awarded my claim.
This has been going on now since August this year and has now finally come
to an end. I have learnt many things regarding this claim. I was always in
the opinion that as a member of the CC I would have there back up if things
went wrong when booking Holidays with them, not the case at all.
If you book a continental site with the CC don't think what they say in the
sites brochure is correct. It was proven today that the CC only rely on its
members were the quality of the pitches are concerned. The sites facilities
are checked for health and safety reasons only, the inspection of the
pitches are not on the CC's check list at all.
Now for the problems the CC tried to hide, August 2006 at this site a member
was given a pitch, the member had complained to the site regarding dead
branches over hanging there caravan, as nothing was done about it after four
days, the member rang the CC and was told that they could do nothing to make
the site sort it out. The member left 4 days early.
Another member given a pitch near toilet block at night infested with rats
member wanted to be moved to another site, contacted Red Pennant and was
moved but had to pay another site fee.
Another member's eight year old son going down the waterslide had to have
eleven stitches in his head due to a rusty old bracket on the end of the
slide.
These are letters sent to me from people that had been to this site and also
reported to the CC without joy. I see the site is mentioned again in the
2007 sites brochure, what's it going to take before they remove this site
from the network.
