Default Fuel Cost

Sure is. About 50% in the last twelve months. Boat diesel currently
around 80p / litre. It's going up even more from November when the tax
regime changes and full "road" taxation becomes payable - likely to
top 130 -140p /litre then!

However, fuel will still be a very small part of the overall cost of
boating - so no doubt we'll just grin and bear it.

Unfortunately, just grinning and bearing it is what the Brits seem to
be good at nowadays. No effective protest. No change.

I for one will not sit back with this attitude. My efforts at protest
might not amount to much, but I won't give up until I have to sell my
boat.

"What did you do in the Boating Costs War, Granddad?"

"Oh, I just grinned and bore it."
