It is..one wonders if BA will again be taken to task by regulators..

They've only been criticised for colluding over fuel surcharges, not the
concept of having a fuel surcharge at all.

The OFT has been pressing for airline websites to make the "final price"
clear, not worrying too much about what the components are.

Howdy,

And BA and KLM and most other serious airlines show the complete price
of the ticket with no hidden extras. Who cares if they call it a
surcharge or something else ... that is the cost of a seat in a flight.

They show it eventually. I was looking at a KLM flight last night, and
the first screen said the fare was £110 out and £117 back, which it
claims adds up to £348, plus a compulsory "reservation fee" of £1.

I have to go to the next screen to see that it's £265 + £83 tax.

(nb 110+114 is not 265, so I'm completely confused).

The internet - along with travel agent's windows - being considered a
'grey' area for current legislation that states advertising must
include all known charges?

To be fair RYR also do the same ....... just before you are about to enter
a contract ;-)

RYR are exploiting this massively.

I see today that they are once again crying foul re Aer Lingus and their
latest fuel surcharge.

Quite remarkable considering RYR own 30% of Aer Lingus.

Hypocrisy of the highest order?
