Default Transatlantic Booze Charges...

This is not a big deal in the great scheme of things but a friend has just
returned from a visit to the States with Continental and found they charge
for alcohol on board.

I flew with American last year and found they also charge. It's only a
matter of a few dollars and wouldn't affect my choice of airline as such but
do anyother of the major carriers charge these days?

I flew with United last year and they didn't charge for alcohol. Previously,
trips with Virgin and BA were also booze inclusive...

We have pretty well found out that all airlines charge for booze on
international flights, except for, I believe someone said, Air France.

I used United (lhr-jfk) last year and there were no charges then. BA didn't
charge a year or so ago but I suppose the need to cut costs in the face of
the high fuel prices makes such things a luxury in economy..

Most, if not all, non US airlines provide complementary alchoholic
beverages.
