You've missed the sarcasm. The person I was replying to said:
"Don't rely on anything anyone on the internet says"
... then promptly suggested someone [erroneous] on the Internet to get
advice from (ie the FCO).

"We always urge Britons to make sensible preparations before
they go and while they are away, such as:
* taking out adequate travel/medical insurance
* checking the FCO Travel Advice
* checking on any health requirements

* obtaining any necessary visas
