Default Stanstead to Heathrow

Does anyone know how easy it is to get from one to the other?
ie how to do it, how long it takes and how much it costs?

Any interchange between London airports is guaranteed to be hell, even more
so if you have lots of luggage with you. Allow several hours for this trip,
which it can do if you are unlucky. Train from Stansted to Liverpool Street,
Tube to Paddington and then Heathrow Express to Heathrow for the fastest way
by rail. Don't even try this if you have a lot of luggage. Also able to do
it by road, but I wouldn't rely on anything where the M25 is concerned.
Jetlink Bus does it for £16 one way from Stansted. They "say" it takes an
hour and 20 minutes, but depends on time of day and traffic conditions,
obviously.

FYI... a pre-booked minicab from KX to Heathrow will cost about
£30-£35.

(It is actually sometimes cheaper, although frequently not faster, to
take a minicab from the City to LHR than to take a cab to Paddington
and pay the £13 Heathrow Express fare, given that it's often 20 quid
to Paddington).

This applies, in spades, to Liverpool Street, by the way.

Malc.

You think that's bad? When I was at school we took a trip to the USA. When
we got back there were 12 kids and two teachers, each with two suitcases, on
a Picadilly line train from Heathrow to central London at 7:30am. We got
some nasty looks!

As for the original post, taking the tube with just one case shouldn't be
too much of a problem, and by 8:30 the rush hour is just starting to die
down so shouldn't be that busy.

Jimbo.
