Are you sure about that. I've aways changed at Clapham or Fratton.

The other option would be get a pre booked Southampton taxi. There must be
Southampton firms that do the airport runs.
Most IW residents travel from Portsmouth ferry terminal to either Gatwick or
Heathrow return for around £80. Stanstead and Luton do cost quite a bit
more.
This works really well for us as the driver will always be there -no matter
how delayed your flight is.

It's a result of the works to upgrade Thameslink in the Kings Cross/St
Pancras area.

So when will the Gatwick to Luton service restart ?
And which new wonderful destinations will we be able to reach by train from
LGW for only 1p plus taxes, fees charges, and surcharges ?

I use a company called Alpha Cars for early morning travel from Southampton.
He charges GBP45 to LHR and GBP50 to LGW (very good value for money).
Probably a fair bit more to STN or LTN. I'll dig out the number if anyones
interested. | |

Not unless they reverse at Cambridge.
There *is* a proposal to install a new chord at the junction a few miles
south of Cambridge, which would allow a train to travel from Stansted to
Royston and Hitchin, although that's more as a way to allow a
cross-country route by re-opening the line to Bedford, Bletchley and
Oxford.

A reminder that from Sept 11th the Luton trains will terminate at St
Pancras.

Really? Are you sure?
