Be aware that Ryanair operate a zero tolerance policy with regards to
passengers that don't check-in by the specified times. If you choose
the inter-airport coach service (probably the easiest) be sure to
allow enough time for delays due to traffic, and getting to and from
the coach stops. Of course you will need to allow at least an hour
from scheduled arrival to clearing customs at Heathrow, and some more
leeway for any delay landing at LHR. Also don't forget that the
Ryanair baggage allowance, both carry-on and hold, could be very
different from those on your transatlantic flight.
I hope the saving you are making by trekking over to Stansted for a
Ryanair flight is good enough to make it worth the time and effort!

Beware! Some trips are timetabled at longer than that, and often they
only run every hour. Allow up to 3hrs end to end, but you might be lucky
and do it in 2 hrs (if you arrive at Heathrow just before a bus is due
to leave).

I really hate being a wet blanket, but without a hired car, Duxford is
quite difficult to get to from Stansted. (OK you could get a train the
Whittlesford and walk, but it's a long way, implausibly so if the OP has
luggage).

Isn't there a bus from Cambridge? So dump your bags at STN, get the
train STN to Cambridge and then to Duxford.
Of course this implies a LOT of spare time. | |

Yes, and the bus from Cambridge to Duxford isn't very often (even if it
is free). An all-day expedition.
