| | Guest | Ryanair & new nat west switch card Based on information received whilst (via an international phone call)
trying to help an internet novice friend book a ryaniar flight it looks like
they can't accept a new nat west switch card because it doesnt have an issue
number - Has anyone else found that problem - or a solution ?
The net novice friend doesn't have a credit card - and the offer they wanted
has gone now, so its just information for next time.

Just leave the Issue Number field blank.

That was my first suggestion, but it came back (apparently) with some error
about a switch card MUST have an issue number.

I don't have a NW card to verufy, but re Graham's post above she should
be selecting Mastercard, not Switch, when it won't require an issue
number.

It may work, but Ryanair will demand their credit card surcharge
if she does that ;-(

I have an RBS Switch card and this also has no issue no. I just use 01, and
stick in a supllementry note with the start date if required. If I can
remember correctly, this worked with the Ryanair site.

My Switch card has both Switch and Maestro logos on the front

.... and Cirrus on the rear.

Yes, because airline booking sites are one of the more frequent places
many of us use our plastic online (I suspect).

That sounds like the best thing to try, but my novice friend wasn't sure if
the booking had gone through (the bank today says not) but the 40GBP weekend
deal to Milan had now gone up about 10GBP, so a weekend in Paris with BA
seems like the best option now - 62 GBP on the BA site, 57 GBP on the AA
site. | |

Do bear in mind that a switch transaction takes 3 working days to 'hit' your
account.
It makes sense that Natwest Switch cards have no issue no. as Natwest is
owned by RBS group. | |
