Default Using status to enter lounges.

Once airside can I use my silver status (exec club) to use the lounges even
if I am not flying on a one world airline. I presume I cannot. Do they
need to see my ticket. I just thought I'd ask anyway because when I have
flown club world before, those with cards did not show their tickets.

With Star alliance this used to be possible, now it is not.

Yes. They started doing this at LHR about three years ago as there
is a prohibition on using a lounge in a terminal which is not the one
you are flying from (even if you have the appropriate ticket/status).
Every other airport I have been to since has checked (but presumably
for a different reason)

Haven't gotten away with this for almost 2 years. It's easier to get
in the lounge with just the ticket (as it has my status printed on it)
but sometime the clerk checks.

tim (who's about to be losing this status anyway so there even
less reason not to fly with RA in future).
