Default Online Training Programs

Has anyone purchased any of the online training programs from
TrainingPeaks or others. I will be attempting my 1st 1/2 IM later this
year, and am curious to know if anyone feels these programs are worth
the expense.

I have. I found that I do better using the book that these training
systems are written around and taking the time to plan my own year/month
etc. My coach did not follow the program recommended by the coaching
system, which I had specifically signed up for and wanted to work on. I
was paying a lot of money to not get what I wanted, and yet I stuck it
out for a year, to give it a chance. I paid $200/month.

I know of others who use these programs and have great coaches and they
swear by their online programs.

If paying helps you to stick to your goals, then these online services
might be better for you.

If your coach listens to you, and motivates you, then yes it could be a
good program for you.

If your coach can't give you feedback as to what approach they are
taking with you, and doesn't cater the workouts around your life, you
might not want to sign up for these programs.

Thank you for the advice. I was actually planning on using the online
program in lieu of a coach.
