Default Where are the best storms/rain?

I may be strange, but one of my dream vacations involves travelling to
someplace during their peak time for storms/rain. Not just drizzle or
dreary, but more like monsoon/non-stop rain and/or massive
thunderstorms. Where are some of the best locations on Earth and times
to travel to hit what most other travellers try so hard to avoid?

I like Hawaii, and I think on the island of Kauai (north side and
inland) has a lot of rain in Jan and Feb. Although Hawaii in general is
popular at that time.

The greatest thunderstorms I have experienced are in the highveld
area of South Africa (around Pretoria). They really are incredible
at times, both including lightening 360 degrees around as far as
the eye can see, and also small intense micro storms barely a mile
across. The hail and thunder and rain can be incredible.

The time for the storms is sometime between mid September and
January, but late October is probably best.
