Default hotels in NYC?

Hi all, i have a problem. i have a project in NYC next week, mid town
South area and i need to stay in a hotel. my budget is 100/night. I
don't care if it's small, just halfway decent. i want a private room
with a private bath. is this even possible? Anyone know of a place in
midtown south like this?

Carla

What part of Manhattan you stay in is not important since public
transportation will get you around town in a whisk. But I don't
know of any hotel with your specifications for that price. There
may be one. Hotel 17 has got good reviews in another group but
does not offer private bath. You might do a search in Google
groups for hotels New York City in the group .usa-canada
as there have been many discussions on cheap NYC hotels there.

Try the Hotel Carter around W44th and 8th avenue, across from the New York
Times. It's an old hotel, now run by Chinese, but it's pretty clean,
friendly, and a great location. I've stayed there numerous times and only
had one setback--a clogged bathtub. They changed my room right away. Just
outside the lobby of the hotel is a small 24 hour deli that comes in handy.
Rooms there are $95.

I used to live on 27th between 10th and 11th, I think I may have a valid
opinion :-)
